MICF - The Little Dum Dum Club (1)

Heeyy Mates.

I can’t remember who said it, probably a comedian who I've heard on another podcast, I have a recollection that it was Justin Hamilton of "Can You Take This Photo Please" but I don't really remember.
Anyways whoever it was said don't sit in the front row of a comedy gig if you don't want to be picked on.
Because if you're sitting there you are going to draw the attention of the comedian.

Although at Joel Creasey's show it was people on the isle that got picked on rather than people in the front row.

I did recall this advice at some point in the night.
As I was sitting in the front row and I had my feet on the stage.
The stage wasn't very high and it wasn't very far from me where I was sitting.
Plus 2 other people were doing it as well. I'm not sure if I was the first to do it.
I may have been, and revelling in the fact that I had the leg room to do so.

So I shouldn't have been surprised at being picked on for having my feet on the stage; the realm of the the comedian. The realm of any performer really.

I did not expect to be called a murderer, I thought it was potential murderer, but it was pointed out to me that it was actual murderer.
The accusation was by international comedian Pete Holmes. Who also got quite disbelieving of my age.

I've actually been lying to myself about my age for a little while now, just because I don't like to think about how old I am, I don't feel the age I am but it is what it is. So when asked 2 things my name and my age I in a state of slight panic defaulted to the truth, rather than the fiction.
I wouldn't say it's a lie, but I do use "Marty" a nickname I've picked up along the way here and on my twitter, while the name I gave in person was my actual first name. It's just a little bit of fiction that I like to use.
So when asked I stated the truth.
Aggressively according to Pete Holmes.
If one can say their name in a "fuck you" sort of way then supposedly I did it. And now it's on the podcast. Woo, there I go throwing myself into the world.
My twitter handle is liquidparanoia, the latter part is something that is part of my life, so actually letting a bit of the true bits of my personality out there into the world is something of a big thing.

I do have tickets to next week's Little Dum Dum Club and will I arrive early and will I sit up the front? Probably.
Because I like my leg room and once I've had an American comedian in my face accuse me of being a murderer, I doubt that there'll be anything to scare me next time.

Oh, and Dave O'Neil was there as well, being good cop mostly to Pete Holmes's bad cop. He looked at me a little concerned or curious, it was a little hard to read his expression.
